World War II Farmhouse
Green Estate offers educational sessions to schools for Key Stage 2 pupils to learn about life during World War II. Pupils can take part in a day of activities to discover what everyday life was like during the war or participate in half day sessions which concentrate on one aspect of 1940s life. Half day sessions can be combined with a half day session from our Tudor experience to make a full day programme.
The sessions cover aspects of the History curriculum looking at Britain since 1930 and link with Unit 9 of the QCA schemes of work. All topics are practical and hands-on. Pupils learn a range of skills while gaining a real insight into how life was during the war. Follow-up work is also provided.
Green Estate Educational Services is part of a not-for-profit social enterprise. Working with us helps us to benefit the local community in Sheffield.

“Brilliant artefacts and hands on resources. I thought the whole role play set up was great – it really engaged the children and put them in the shoes of evacuees”
Ben Paxman, Teacher from Totley Primary School.
