As well as providing a complete 'design and build' service for Green Roofs, Green Estate are abe to provide other instalers and self-builders with  key individual components. 

Vegetation

Different roofs will require differnent ways of establishing the vegetation.  Green Estate are able to advise on and supply a variety of options to suit your requrements, Including , our unique Pictiorial Meadows Green Roof seed mix, plug plants and specialist turfs. www.pictorialmeadows.co.uk/green_roof_mix

Growing Medium

It is important to remember that weight is an imporant factor in green roof construction.  With our expertise and experience  Green Estate have therefore formuated a unique planting medium  (subarate) which is light in weight yet highly suitable for roof based planting .

The considerations whoch need to be taken into account when chosing a planting medium for a green roof are :

  • Water retention
  • Free Draining enough not to waterlog
  • Right balance of nutrients - enough to keep the plant healthly without the addition of a fertiliser but not too richj s as to stimulate excess growth
  • Light weight 

We manufacture and supply the Green Estate  Substrate . This can be supplied loose or in bulk bags or 25 kg bags.

This substrate is produced from 100% recycled materials

We always keep in stock a supply of drainage boards, filter fleece and protection matting - call us to discuss your requirements

The Waterproofing

Green Estate do not supply membrane on its own only as part of the Full contsruction service
